This is in response to Clayton Weeks’ letter (Nov. 16) about better use for money from the spay-neuter program for Maine.
Those puppies are brought here to fill the lives of people who love dogs, not to fill cages.
Why should they be put down because of people’s irresponsible ways, no matter what state they come from?
For the few extra dollars I pay every year for that program, I can’t think of anywhere else I would want my money to go.
I have four shelter dogs and every day I’m lucky enough to look into their beautiful eyes and say, “I don’t know where you came from, but I’m sure glad you’re here.”
