 GRAY — Rebecca A. Abukook, 51, of 105 Walnut St. in Lewiston, died unexpectedly Monday evening, Nov. 15 in an automobile accident on the Maine Turnpike.

She was born in Yirol, Sudan Jan. 1, 1959, a daughter of Elizabeth Makanj and Matueng Abukook. She has been a resident of this community for the last several years and was currently working for L.L. Bean at the time of her death. She was a lady of faith, an active member of South Lewiston Baptist Church, and a well-known lady with a very big heart who loved helping people and serving her church and community. She was loved in the Sudanese community and cared deeply for her family and for the welfare of all children of all ages. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed.

She leaves her husband, Enock Manyiel of Sudan; three daughters, Aker, Sarah and Athyie Manyiel; six sons, Abraham, Simon, Mayor, Malith, Wal and Aber Manyiel; three grandchildren; two sisters, Ayor and Rachel Abukook; and two brothers, Luka and Malith Abukook.

She was predeceased by a brother, Abraham.
