MANCHESTER, CONN. — Simonne Clemente Galipeau Ouellette, 87, of Manchester, Conn., died at home in her sleep on Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2010.
Born Oct. 5, 1923, in Lewiston, she was the daughter of Felix Xavier Galipeau and Oveline Adele Laprise Galipeau. Educated in Lewiston schools, she worked at Hill Mill in Lewiston.
She married Leo Joseph Ouellette on Sept. 1, 1945. He passed away on Jan. 1, 1994. She lived in Maine until 1965 and in Connecticut since 1966. Simonne was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a devout Catholic.
She is survived by her children, all in Connecticut, Larry and Eva Ouellette, Joline and John Davis, Donald Ouellette and Gerry Ouellette, with whom she made her home. She also leaves her sister, Fern Geoffroy of Auburn; and a brother, Daniel Isabel of Lewiston. She also leaves five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
She was predeceased by her baby daughter, Lucille; and her brothers, Gerard, Phil, Reneau, Albert, Clement, Omar and Jean Marie Galipeau.
