SABATTUS — Roger G. Perron, 67, died after fighting a courageous battle against mesothelioma on Thursday, Nov. 18, with his family by his side.
He was born in Lewiston, Dec. 19, 1942, the son of Marie and Lucien Perron. He graduated from Lewiston High School in 1961. After graduation he joined he Army. Upon his return, he joined the Carpenter’s Union and worked his way up to International Representative before retiring in 1997.
He always maintained his passion for building, even after his retirement. He often found an opportunity to teach what he loved to do the most.
In 1966 he married Donna Cote, his wife of 44 years, and together they embarked upon the adventure of raising two daughters and a son. They enjoyed gardening, playing cards, sleepovers with their grandchildren, boating, bonfires, swimming, building houses for their children, traveling to Florida, going on cruises, and his dream of a three-week vacation out west.
He has touched many lives by living by the mottos: “family first,” “it’s easier to say yes than no,” and “always lend a helping hand.”
Roger’s children Jeff, Sonya and Malissa have wonderful memories of a father who taught them to believe in themselves, try to always give the benefit of the doubt and to not sweat the small stuff.
He will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Donna; his daughters, Malissa Perron Worth and husband, Bill, Sonya Laramee and husband, Brian; and his son, Jeff Perron and his wife, Lisa; his seven grandchildren, Tyler, Brandon, Connor, Machaela, Riley, Elise and Braden will miss Pepere and all the special things he did with them. Roger’s siblings, Bob, Bert, Larry and Lucille and their spouses have many fond memories and will miss him dearly.
He was predeceased by a sister, Carmen; and his parents, Marie and Lucien.
