Officers elected
LEWISTON — The L and A Veterans Council held election of officers on Nov. 4. Those elected were: chairman, Raymond Boulet; vice chairman, Arthur Roy; secretary, Sally Wotherspoon; treasurer, Wini Pelletier; advisor, Bert Dutil.
Anyone with forms for names to be added to the 21st memorial stone should destroy them. New forms will be available in the coming weeks. Anyone needing new forms or information about the Veterans Memorial Park may write to: L and A Veterans Council, P.O. Box 2316, Lewiston, ME 04241.
Benefit event
LEWISTON — A “Christmas Wish” benefit will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 27, at Irish Twins Pub, 743 Main St. The will be food, live music, prizes and a 50/50 raffle.
The event will benefit Danielle, a 22-year-old mother of a 2-year-old girl and a 4-year-old boy, who lost everything in a mobile home fire. Tree-lighting
NEW GLOUCESTER — The annual New Gloucester “Tiny Timber” tree-lighting will take place at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 28, at the Town Hall on Route 231. Music will be by the Gray-New Gloucester High School chorus.
There will also be a library open house with refreshments and the History Barn will be open with a photo exhibit. Kevin Fowler will be the master of ceremonies. The events are sponsored by the New Gloucester Historical Society and the New Gloucester Public Library.
Spaghetti supper
LEWISTON — A benefit spaghetti supper will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 27, at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 150 East Ave.
Proceeds will benefit baby Aubrey Coburn, who is in need of three open heart surgeries. Cost is $5 for adults, $3 for children under 12. Donations will be accepted. For more information, call Angeliec Goulding at 330-0033.
