LEWISTON — Cecile W. Michaud, 82, of 57 Main St., Greene, died Monday, Nov. 22, at Central Maine Medical Center.
She was born in Van Buren, Dec. 27, 1927, the daughter of Willie and Elisabeth Russie Michaud. She moved to the local area at the age of 28, and was employed as a line worker and shop steward at Hillcrest Poultry for more than 28 years. She then worked for the Sarah Frye Home in Auburn until her retirement at age 65.
She was also well-known for her work as a bookkeeper at Michaud’s Auction House in Danville. Always good with her hands, she enjoyed knitting, crochet, and embroidery, and even while watching television her hands were always busy.
Survivors include two sons, Joseph and wife, Venise, of Sabattus and Daniel and wife, Twyla, of Las Vegas, Nev.; a daughter, whom she lived with, Geraldine and husband, Norman Farrington, of Greene; a sister, Priscilla Michaud of Van Buren; eight grandchildren, Robin and Michelle Michaud, Sherry Richie, Corey and Dale Michaud, Jay and Robert Akers and Melissa Farrington; a stepgranddaughter, Tracy Farrington; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Felix; sister, Lucille; and son, Ivan Michaud in 1994.
