First and foremost I would love to thank the Good Shepherd Food-Bank and the Kraft Food mobile pantry for the wonderful way they handled the food drive at the High Street Church on Nov. 18.

Unfortunately, these volunteers had to deal with some of the most selfish, self-absorbed individuals I have ever met. I was truly embarrassed that the people at the church who were there to accept food from the giveaway were handling themselves in such a childish manner. They were rude to the volunteers who were only trying to keep things orderly and civilized.

These volunteers took time out their busy schedules to stand in the shivering cold to give assistance to those who need it, only to be disrespected by people who seemed to feel that this assistance is owed to them and who do not feel the need to be humble and thankful.

I am ashamed that these are the types of people the volunteers will remember, not the thankful, respectful group that composes this area.
