I recently received an e-mail from the local Republican Party asking me to encourage our senators to not support the DREAM Act.
The DREAM Act would allow minors who are already here, and whose parents are illegal immigrants, to stay if they complete high school, join and complete a tour in the military or graduate from college. I’m told if this bill passes, there will be millions of new Democrats. What a load of bull.
What is wrong with allowing these people to stay? Aren’t they trying to be productive and responsible?
Our immigration policies need to be revised. The DREAM Act doesn’t do enough, if you ask me. We should make it easier for people who want to come
here and live the American dream. We are a nation of immigrants. Many of us
would not be here if it were not for our parents, grandparents or great-grandparents.
I welcome all who want to work hard and make a better life for themselves.
And if we Republicans can support that, then who says they will register
Democrat?
