AUBURN — Franklyn Elliott Witherell of 608 College St., Lewiston, died Tuesday, Nov. 23, at the Hospice House in Auburn, following a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born in Lewiston on June 29, 1955, the son of Isaac E. Witherell Sr. and Francis V. (Wight) Witherell. On Aug. 8, 1982 he married Sharron Krupka. He attended Auburn schools and the University of Maine, Augusta campus, studying music.

He was a great guitarist and had his own band for a while. Frank loved hunting, fishing, playing his guitar and watching birds.

He is survived by his wife; three brothers, Isaac E. Witherell Jr., F. Jordan Witherell and James W. Witherell, their wives and families. He also is survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by father; mother; and sister, Sally E. Witherell.
