AUBURN — Joseph A. St. Pierre, 52, of 338 Hardscrabble Road, Poland, died Thursday, Nov. 25, at the Hospice House in Auburn, following a courageous six-year battle with cancer.
Born in Lewiston on June 17, 1958, he was the son of Rene and Rosalie Castonguay St. Pierre. A 1975 graduate of Livermore Falls High School, he married Nancy Ann Leclair on Sept. 27, 1979.
He was employed for many years as a supervisor for Hebert Construction Co., and was formerly the assistant chief of the Poland Fire Department. He loved farming the land as his family had done for generations, and also loved John Deere tractors.
A member of St. Louis Church, Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish, he is survived by his loving wife of 31 years; his mother, Rosalie St. Pierre, of Fayette; two sons, Joseph R. of Wales and Kevin of Poland; two daughters, Amanda and husband, Dana Brocker, of Oxford, and Jennifer St. Pierre of Oxford; two brothers, Julien and wife, Mona, of Winthrop, and Leo and wife, Louise, of Fayette; four sisters, Marie and husband, Larry Beaulieu, of Wales, Catherine and husband, Jamie Borr, of Apopka, Fla., Rochelle and husband, Al Harriman, of Glenburn, and Janet and husband, Mike Ventrella, of Fayette.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Michelle St. Pierre, who passed away in 1992.
