AUGUSTA — The Maine Funeral Directors Association will kick off the 2010 Wreaths Across America campaign with a ceremony at the State House on Monday, Dec. 6.

The ceremony will be held in the Hall of Flags at 11:30 a.m., with the actual wreath laying scheduled for noon. The public is invited to attend.

The event will launch a weeklong celebration of America’s veterans and coincides with the annual wreath-laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery. Approximately 50 members of the Maine Funeral Directors Association will travel to Arlington to participate in that ceremony Dec. 11.

This year, Morrill and Karen Worcester of the Worcester Wreath Co. of Harrington will donate more than 20,000 wreaths for placement at Arlington. For more information, go to wreathsacrossamerica.org.
