BRIDGTON — Plans are under way for the eighth annual Festival of Lights in downtown Bridgton on Saturday, Dec. 4. There will be a Main Street Candle Light Walk, coordinated by Alan Manoian, economic development director, a Festival of Lights Parade on Main Street and Depot Street and festivities at the Bridgton Community Center on Depot Street.

Inside the BCC the Highland Strings will provide seasonal favorites and Santa and Mrs. Claus have confirmed that they will be present to meet each child. BCC volunteers will provide snacks and crafts inside and a bonfire in the back yard.
Ken Murphy will coordinate this year’s parade. All businesses, clubs, churches and individuals are eligible to participate and should contact Ken at 242-9417 or at the Bridgton Community Center, 647-3116.
Tom Tash, recreation director, has joined the festival team and the Bridgton Recreation Department, Office of Economic Development and the Bridgton Community Center are continuing the tradition.
All events are open to the public and free. Those who would like to participate or volunteer should call the center.
