BETHEL — The Oxford County Democrats will meet at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 5, at the Crescent Park School for a potluck lunch and a business meeting. Greg Olson, campaign manager for Congressman Mike Michaud, will be the featured speaker.
Rep. Terry Hayes of Buckfield, newly elected assistant leader for the House Democrats, will provide an update from the State House as will incumbents Rep. Matt Peterson of Rumford, Rep. Sheryl Briggs of Mexico, Rep. Helen Rankin of Hiram and Sen. John Patrick of Rumford.
County officials Sheriff Wayne Gallant of Rumford, Treasurer Roy Gedat of Norway, Register of Probate Bruce Rood of Waterford and newly-elected Register of Deeds Patricia Shearman of Norway have been invited as well.
County Democratic Chairwoman Cathy Newell of Greenwood is preparing the agenda for the business meeting, including a county committee treasurer’s report from Roy Gedat and the filling of vacant slots for Democratic State Committee. A date will be set for the January meeting to include the election of officers for 2011-2012.
