LEWISTON — Advanced MicroSystems, 647 Main St., Lewiston, announces the recent hiring of Wesley LeCompte as an IT support specialist.

Previously working as a support specialist for three years, he brings with him a strong customer service background and a broad knowledge of computer hardware and software in a variety of environments. Prior to that, he worked for a large mental health agency where he maintained 100-plus computers and servers dispersed over 10 sites.

LeCompte has completed requirements to become a Microsoft Certified Professional and an Apple Certified Macintosh Technician.

He will act as the first line of defense at the help desk, taking calls from clients needing technical assistance with general IT issues. He will be able to quickly and effectively resolve minor issues for clients. Should an issue need escalation, he will relay information promptly between clients and their primary IT consultant.

Because LeCompte is an Apple Certified Macintosh Technician, Advanced MicroSystems will soon expand its service offerings in that area, as well, by being able to perform both warranty and non-warranty work on Apple equipment.
