DEAR SUN SPOTS: A few weeks ago I lost a Rite-Aid envelop of pictures between Neil’s diner on Sabattus Street through Farwell and Webster streets to South Avenue in Lewiston.

These pictures were of a cruise vacation and had the negatives in the envelope as well. If anyone has found them, please call, as they are important to me. Thank you. — Sandy, [email protected], 754-9778

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I have a six-foot artificial Christmas tree in very good condition that I would like to donate to a church or organization. Please e-mail [email protected] if interested. — No Name, No Town

DEAR SUN SPOTS: In response to No Name, Auburn on Nov. 29, I am the person who repairs composition dolls from the 1920s and up. I have been doing this now for 10 years. — Anita, 783-6529, [email protected]

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I have the 2010 nickel someone was looking for. They can call me at 783-7009, and I will send it to them. — Gabrielle, Lewiston

DEAR SUN SPOTS: In response to the Nov. 27 query from Karl Windischhofer in Greene, who was looking for a needle for his RCA phonograph, the Needle Doctor has a variety of RCA replacement styles, including some of the type asked about. DEAR SUN SPOTS: Re the double stylus request of a couple days ago: If you would use a search engine (I used Bing) and type in “vintage phonograph parts.” you will come up with hundreds of sites. I found one just for needles.

By the by, “vintage” is the appropriate term when looking for “old stuff.” I already sent the information to my brother in Greene.

Also, on the tavern name inquiry of Nov. 29, I think it used to be Houles in the 1940s (perhaps earlier), ’50s and ’60s. Adieu! — No Name via e-mail

ANSWER: Sun Spots is willing to bet that your brother will call you instead of writing to her the next time he needs to find something online! Nevertheless, thanks for the search tip. Sun Spots may have gone straight to eBay without doing a more thorough google (or bing) search. She will not make that mistake again.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: If the tavern was on Lisbon, not Main, street, it was called Houle’s at one time. My Bates roommate referred to it always as “Houle’s By the Sea.” — No Name via e-mail

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I read in your Nov. 27 column that there is a gentleman looking for some help with an eBay purchase.

I would be glad to help him find what he needs. I have been listed with eBay for three years and have a 100-percent profile rating, along with being a bronze-rated power seller.

He can contact me at 786-9116 during normal business hours Monday thru Friday or e-mail me with his request. I have helped several other people in the past few months find their items.

I am sure that if it is out there, we will find it for him. The one thing that people need to realize about eBay is that it is always changing. When you look today, it may not be there; next week or a couple of weeks later you may find it. Just don’t give up too quickly. It takes time to look under every rock. — Stephen J. Martelli, [email protected]
