BRUNSWICK — “Ride The Divide,” the award-winning, feature-length documentary about the world’s toughest mountain bike race, will be given an encore showing at the Frontier Cafe & Cinema.

Screenings will be at 6 and 8 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 4.

“Ride The Divide” chronicles the story of several mountain bikers who attempt the 2,711-mile race called the Tour Divide along the Continental Divide in the Rocky Mountains.

“Ride The Divide” highlights the inspiring stories of three racers as they attempt to pedal from Banff, Canada, to a small, dusty crossing on the Mexican border. There is Mike, a 40-year-old family man who uses this challenge to chart a new course in life; Matthew, a leader in extreme endurance racing who’s competing for his fifth time; and Mary, the first female rider to race this route.

The movie was named Best Adventure Film at this year’s Vail Film Festival.

Also making an encore appearance will be Maine native Stephen Gleasner, who was among the handful of riders who were able to finish this grueling race in 2008, when the documentary was filmed. Gleasner, of Appleton, will be available for questions after the first screening Saturday night.

Tickets are $10 at the door. Because the film has sold out previously, people are urged to buy tickets in advance by calling 725-5222. The Frontier is located at Fort Andross.
