BOSTON — Jacob Edward Michael Schorr, 7, of Jay, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 1, at the Children’s Hospital of Boston.

Jacob was born to Steven Edward and Laura Denise (Weaver) Schorr on March 7, 2003, at Eglin AFB, Fla.

Although Jacob’s life was far too short, he touched the lives and hearts of many people who were naturally drawn to him by his infectious laugh, blown kisses, all around general happiness and lovable nature. He loved trains and trucks and of course, swinging.

Jacob leaves behind his parents of Jay; his maternal grandmother, Katherine Wagner and her husband, James, of Mt. Airy, N.C.; maternal grandfather, Gary Weaver and his wife, Brenda, of Knoxville, Tenn.; paternal grandparents, Donald and Candace Schorr of New Sharon; maternal great-grandmothers, Mary Echard of Bridgewater, Va., and Carolyn Aman of Columbus, Ga.; an uncle, Michael Weaver of Mt. Airy, N.C.; an aunt, Jennifer Olmstead and her husband, Sam, of San Clemente, Calif.; and godparents, Dwayne and Renee Marquis of Navarre, Fla.

He was predeceased by his maternal great-grandfather, John Aman; and paternal great-grandparents, Edward and Anna Simanek.

Jacob’s parents would like to thank Dr. Richard Rosol , Dr. Matthew Hand and all of the therapists, specialists and the nurses who helped with his care during the last few months.
