BATH — Phyllis Dyer Pearl Osgood of River Road, Brunswick, died Tuesday, Nov. 30, at Winship Green Nursing Facility, after a courageous battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, (PSP).

Phyllis was born on April 4, 1918, the daughter of Laforest A. “Pop” Dyer and Gladys Rebecca Dyer. She spent her childhood years growing up in East Auburn, where she had fun with all the kids, especially the Plummer girls. She graduated from Edward Little High School in 1935 and Bliss College in 1937, with an administrative secretarial degree.

In July of 1939, she married Albert E. Pearl “Pete.” Together they had two children, Susan and Douglas. They enjoyed taking vacations at Moosehead Lake, fishing and staying at Lincoln’s Camps. Pete died unexpectedly May 9, 1964.

During their marriage, Phyllis worked as an administrative secretary/bookkeeper at Cowen Mill in Lewiston. When Susan and Douglas were older, she worked for the Auburn School Department at the Washburn Elementary School under the guidance of Principal Grace Arnold. Phyllis enjoyed her duties immensely, especially helping children.

In 1965, our mother reconnected with her high school boyfriend, Donald A. Osgood, rekindling an old courtship. They were married on Dec. 27, 1965 in St. Petersburg, Fla., where they enjoyed life to the fullest, golfing as much as possible.

After Don’s passing in April 1998, Phyllis moved to Maine, where she resided with Susan and her husband, Tim. She enjoyed going to Five Islands to visit Douglas and his wife, Carol and their family, sailing, picnics and rides. Phyllis was a member of the First Congregational Church UCC, of Durham. She will be missed greatly.
