LEWISTON — Marjorie E. Babson, 92, formerly of Lisbon Falls, died Friday, Dec. 3, at Montello Manor, after a brief illness.

She was born in Lisbon Falls on Feb. 25, 1918, a daughter of the late Gustave and Edna (Philbrick) Sparsam. She was educated in Lisbon Falls and graduated from Lisbon Falls High School, Class of 1934.

Marjorie married Alfred E. Kroken on Sept. 15, 1946. He predeceased her in November of 1961. She then married Eugene J. Babson on July 25, 1970, and moved to Florida for 16 years before moving back to Lisbon Falls in 1992. She worked for Depositors Trust Co. Bank in Lisbon Falls, Delray Beach in Fla., Bowdoin College as secretary of the Alumni Association and in the assessing office in Brunswick.

She leaves two daughters, Patricia White and her husband, David, and Donna Kroken, both of Lisbon Falls; a son, Randall Kroken and his wife, Constance, of Lisbon Falls; a stepson, David Babson and his wife, Sandra, of Ariz.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, Eugene, in 2004 and a brother, Laurence R. Sparsam, who was killed in action during World War II.
