LEWISTON — Gilberte “Gibby” P. Beaulieu, 91, of Sabattus Street, died peacfully Saturday, Dec. 4,  at Marshwood Nursing Home, after living a long and full life.

She was born in Lewiston on April 25, 1919, a daughter of the late Willie and Alphonsine (Dick) Rioux. She was educated in local schools and married Julien Beaulieu on July 4, 1946. Together they worked very hard on their family dairy farm on Sabattus Street.

Gibby was a great cook and loved family gatherings, where she was the life of the party. She also enjoyed trips to the coast, especially Bailey’s Island, and playing cards with her sister, Yvette. Her grandchildren have many fond memories of Gibby, including the icecream cones she always gave them while they visited. She loved selling Christmas trees, corn, and strawberries by the roadside.

She leaves behind her husband of 64 years, Julien, of Lewiston; a daughter, Jeanne Beaulieu of Lewiston; a son, Roger Beaulieu and his wife, Pat, of Lewiston; five grandchildren, Scott Laberge and his wife, Kim, of Lewiston, Jennifer Hazen and her husband, Derrick, of Sabattus, Mack Beaulieu and his companion, Kelly Beauregard, of Lewiston, Niki Beaulieu of Lewiston, and Neil Beaulieu and his companion, Ryan James of Turner; several great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a son, Normand Beaulieu; and three brothers, Willie, Robert and Val Rioux; and one sister, Yvette Lafrance.

A special thanks to the staff at Marshwood, who took excellent care of Gibby and whom she grew very fond of.
