AUBURN — Claude Lionel Cote, 64, of Lewiston, passed away on Dec. 4, at Bolster Heights.

Claude was born on Jan. 30, 1946, to Lionel and Ruth (Cram) Cote in Lewiston.

In his younger years, he worked in several local shoeshops, and later went on to own and operate Cote’s Auto Sales in Turner. In his later years, he was a dedicated carrier for the Lewiston Sun Journal.

Claude was a member of the Turner Ridge Riders snowmobile club, and the NRA.

He enjoyed fishing, camping, country music and attending bluegrass festivals.

He is survived by two sons, Bill Cote and his wife, Laurie of Leeds and David Cote and his fiance, Shana Cloutier, of Leeds; two daughters, Lisa Sturgis and her husband, Mark of Windsor and Cyndi Lee Matthews of Longview, Texas; seven grandchildren, Jason and Haley Cote of Leeds, Matt and Meagan Sturgis of Windsor, Paige and Brent Grant of Leeds, and Morgan Cox of Longview, Texas; one great-grandson, Brody Matthew Cox of Longview, Texas; Claude also leaves behind one sister, Claudette Berube and her husband, Marcel, of Lakeland Fla.; several nieces, nephews and their children; and one aunt, Louise Sanders and her husband, Bill, of Leeds.

He was predeceased by his parents.

The family would like to give a special thank-you to Guy and Deanna of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice for treating Claude with the utmost dignity and respect.
