LEWISTON — Gerard R. Laganiere, 53, of Lewiston died unexpectedly Sunday, Dec. 5, at Central Maine Medical Center.

He was born in Lewiston, Nov. 13, 1957, the son of Robert and Lorraine Turcotte Laganiere. He was educated in Auburn schools and graduated from Edward Little High School, Class of 1976. After high school, he served his country in the U.S. Army.

He played hockey while at Edward Little and enjoyed playing golf and was an avid Bruins fan.

Gerard had been employed in the local area as an auto body technician.

He is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth Keough and husband, Daniel, of Lewiston; two grandchildren, William and Alexis; his father and stepmother, Robert and Anita Laganiere of Auburn; a sister, AnnMarie Gilman and husband, Michael, of Texas; and a brother, Roger of Turner.

He was predeceased by his mother.
