MORRISTON, Fla. — Marcelle Fortin Nelson, 86, died Saturday, Nov 27, at her home in Morriston, Fla.

She was born Feb. 28, 1924, in Lewiston, the fourth child of Albert Fortin and Rose Poulin. She enjoyed playing bingo, knitting and crocheting. She is a past president of the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary Post 98 in Coral Gables, Fla. Prior to her retirement in 1986, she worked as a clerk for AT&T for 30 years and was a proud member of the Telephone Pioneers. She is survived by her sister, Laurette Nolin of Lewiston; a son, Richard Doucette; two daughters, Pauline Parker and husband, Herb and Cheryl King and husband, Robert; three grandchildren, Herb Parker and wife, Kate, Charles Ferris and wife, Connie and Cheri Najaf and husband, Basil; five nieces and nephews, Mariette Bennett, Anne Blais, Paul Nolin, William Nolin and Adrienne Glass; five great-grandchildren, Adam and Emma Parker, Ariana Najaf and Zachary and Jacob Ferris; and a cousin, Bert Pelletier of Portland.

She was predeceased by brothers, Robert Fortin in 1922 and Adrian Fortin in 1996.
