It’s just terrible that Maine’s college leaders earn so little. Colby College’s president earns only $695,000 a year — that’s only $13,365.38 a week! You really have to feel sorry for these people for earning a paycheck far below the national average for doing the same job as their peers.

I’m not harping on these college leaders; they are well-educated and their jobs are very demanding, but what I’m bringing to light is the fact that educators in Maine are not in New York, and the $1 million-a-year paychecks are obscene considering the debts college students are incurring just trying to better themselves.
