Through the years, city administrators in Auburn have done some stupid things, but I just can’t help but wonder why on Earth road planners built a zig-zag sidewalk on Main Street on the side by the retaining wall that was a painted mural.

I can’t imagine how the snow removal crew will enjoy cultivating grass with their snowplows.

Also, why is there no right turn on red at the corner of Academy and Main streets?

I could be mistaken, but I just cannot see the rationale for either one of those ideas. Maybe some people have nothing better to do than to aggravate the poor taxpayers.

If there are legitimate reasons for those two situations, I will offer my apology, but I just can’t figure it out.
