Coach: Chris Bessey (eighth year)

Last year’s record: 12-7, lost in Western C quarterfinal.

Returning letter winners: Seniors — Beth Moore (5-9 forward), Brittany DiPompo (5-4 guard), Alannah White (5-4 guard); Juniors  — Alexis Blodgett (5-6 guard), Alexi Deering (5-7 guard).

Key losses: Hillary Deane (forward), Mallory Bonnevie (guard), Kelsea Beisaw (guard).

Promising newcomers: Juniors — Kourtney Brennick (5-10 forward), Kristy Macomber (5-7 forward), Ashley Quirrion (5-2 guard), Ashley Dorey (5-6 guard); Sophomore – Tammy Chase (5-7 forward); Freshmen — Victoria Ouellette (5-8 forward), Emily Taylor (5-4 guard).

Outlook:

The Tigers lost three regulars from last year’s club that led the MVC in scoring (46.2 ppg), but Jay still has Moore, who was an all-conference player that led the MVC in rebounds (10.5) and averaged 10 points per game.  Blodgett also chipped in 10 points per outing and led the MVC in 3’s with 37.  White, Deering and DiPompo all saw quality time off the bench. That’s a solid nucleus to work with and a promising group of new players could help fill in and keep the Tigers strong in the MVC.

Coach’s comment:

“We have a good group of girls that work hard and enjoy playing together and have great leadership. That should allow us to improve as the season progresses and hopefully make some noise in February as the younger players work their way in.” Coach Chris Bessey.
