Coach: Tammy Anderson (seventh year)

Last year’s record: 18-2, lost in Western B semifinal.

Returning letter winners:  Seniors — Courtney Anderson (5-5 guard), Abbey Randall (5-4 guard); Juniors — Amanda Jordan (5-8 forward), Adrie Newton (5-9 forward), Sarah Frost (5-8 forward), Kasidy Stevenson (forward); Sophomores  – Kristen Anderson (5-7 guard), Mariah Treadwell (5-5 guard), Jenna Cote (guard/forward), Desiree Tweedie (5-4 guard).

Promising newcomers: Freshman  — Kelly Pomerleau (5-5 guard).

Key losses: Danielle Brewer (guard/forward).

Outlook:

The Hornets return almost all of last year’s club including all-conference players Courtney Anderson (18.7 ppg), Kristen Anderson (15 ppg)  and Newton (15.4 ppg). Leavitt scored at an impressive 67.4 points per game clip and should be just as prolific as last year. The Hornets won’t sneak up on teams this year, but they’ll still be hard to match up against, especially with Leavitt’s fast-paced style. The Hornets should be a contender for the KVAC title again and a threat in Western B.

Coach’s comment:

“We play a fast-paced, fun game with great intensity. We know each other well on and off the court. Our potential is great, and we hope to succeed and have fun doing it.” Coach Tammy Anderson.
