WATERVILLE (AP) — Police say three teenagers have been arrested in connection with the stabbing of a taxi driver in Maine.

Police in Waterville say two 14-year-old girls and 18-year-old Michael Damron Jr. have been arrested. The Morning Sentinel in Waterville reports all face felony charges of robbery and elevated aggravated assault.

Police said the unnamed driver, who works for G’s Taxi, picked up three people in a parking lot on Dec. 1, and drove them to a short, dead-end street. The driver said a passenger grabbed him from behind, around the throat, and he was then stabbed twice.

The driver said he honked his horn, sending the three running from the cab. He was released from the hospital the next day.
