LEWISTON — The Maine Gladiators peewee hockey team won three out of four games in recent action.

Griffin Wade led the way with two goals in a 4-2 win over the Hurricanes at Sukee Arena in Winslow. The Hurricanes struck first after a scoreless opening period, but the Gladiators answered with two goals in the second stanza and two more in the third.

Gavin Bates and Liam Benson rounded out the scoring for the Gladiators. Nathan Richard, Kyle Morin, Ryley Austin, Trevor Lachance and Conrad Grimmer registered assists.

Ridge Servidio notched 22 saves to pick up the win in goal.

Casco Bay knocked off the Gladiators, 3-1, at Travis Roy Arena in Yarmouth. The game was tied 1-1 in the third period before Casco Bay turned up the pressure. Benson scored the Gladiators’ goal.

The Gladiators traveled to Merrimack College and swept two games.

Wade and Lachance each scored two goals in a 5-0 win over Marblehead. Ben Steele added a goal and two assists. Morin and Luc Dostie each chalked up an assist. Servidio recorded the shutout.

Wade continued his hot hand with a hat trick in a 5-2 win over Masco. That made it seven goals in four games for Wade. Morin added a goal and two assists. Lachance also lit the lamp.

Kiana Melvin had two assists, with one each by Dustin Larochelle, Bates and Steele. Kyle Welsh played a strong game in net for the Gladiators.
