NORWAY — The porch at the Gingerbread House on Main Street survived another day intact but is scheduled to be removed Friday.
Paul Chabot, owner of Chabot’s Construction in Greene which has been hired by the Norway Landmarks Preservation Society to move the house, said bad weather postponed the expected porch removal Wednesday.
Once the porch is removed, one chimney will be taken down and James Merry, owner of James G. Merry Building Movers of Scarborough, will look at the building. A date for the move is expected to be announced at that point.
The 1850s Gingerbread House on Main Street will be moved up the street to a small lot by Butters Park near the Pennesseewassee dam.
