A section of Blake Street was made one-way to traffic yesterday by Lewiston Police Chief Roland C. Amnott.
Until further notice, only northerly traffic will be allowed between Oak and Main streets. The direction is from Oak to Main.
Firemen use this street as a fire route to the northern areas of the city and the banning of two-way traffic is aimed at preventing possible congestion. The street has been narrowed by snow piled on each side. Amnott said he put the one-way system into effect there at the request of the fire department.
