BANGOR — Gail C. Stubbs, 77, of Herman, passed away peacefully Dec. 16, at a Bangor healthcare facility surrounded by her loving family.
Gail was born in Hampden, Sept. 2, 1933, to Norman E. and Beatrice (White) Carmichael.
Gail grew up in Hampden and was a graduate of Hampden Academy. She then married her loving husband, Everett of 56 years, before starting their family in Hermon where they lived the rest of their lives. Gail worked for more than 30 years at Bangor Mental Health Institute, first as a nurse’s aide and for the last 15 years of her career as a time keeper. Gail and Everett spent many summers camping at Jo Mary Lake Campground and in their later years enjoyed day bus trips including Prince Edward Island and Cabbage Island. Gail will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to all.
Gail is survived by her loving children, Doug Stubbs and wife, Jessica, of Merrill and their children, Zachary and wife, Amanda of Oakfield, and Dylan Stubbs of Merrill, Charles Stubbs of Sabattus and his children, Jessy Stubbs of Bangor and Corey and Katie Stubbs of Sabatus, and Patty Henderson and husband, Frank, of Levant and their children Joe Henderson of Hermon, James Henderson of Hermon and Michelle and Dakoda Henderson of Levant; a special grandson, Adrian Miller Jr., of Hermon, whom was very special to Gail and Everett as they raised him after the death of his mother, Kathy.
Gail was predeceased by her husband, Everett W. Stubbs Jr. in 2008, a daughter, Kathryn “Kathy” (Stubbs) Miller in 1988; and a brother, Lewis Carmichael Sr. in 1968.
