LEWISTON — Carlene Beulah (Ward) Gauthier, 84, of 304 Scribner Boulevard, Lewiston, went to the Lord on Dec. 18, at Central Maine Medical Center after a long illness.
She was born on Aug. 18, 1926, in Bridgton, the daughter of Merle Carlton Ward and Annie Louise Gray. Carlene grew up and attended schools in Hiram. She was a mill worker for many years, and later worked at Auburn Laundry until it closed. She married the love of her life, Alcide Cyril Gauthier on July 21, 1945, in Conway, N.H. Mr. Gauthier passed away on March 24, 1976. Carlene enjoyed spending time with her family, was an avid collector of decorative shoes and loved soap operas.
She will be sadly missed by her two sons, Robert and his wife, Dorothy, of West Bowdoin, Ken and his wife, Lisa, of Lewiston; three daughters, Brenda Smith, Louise Gauthier and Joy DeBoe, all of Lewiston; 13 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parent; husband; her brother, Delwin Ward; sisters, Shirley Lebrecque and Claire Bartlet; and her eldest son, Alcide Cyril Gauthier Jr.
