Blue Christmas
BETHEL — A Blue Christmas service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 22, at West Parish Congregational Church, Church Street. All are welcome to gather at the ecumenical service to acknowledge their “Christmas Blues,” the reasons for them and offer them to God.
Carol Stevens and Virginia Rickeman will lead the service. Those who wish to support someone feeling “blue”are also welcome.
Candlelight service
OTISFIELD — Spurrs Corner Church will hold a Christmas Eve candlelight service at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 24. The traditional service will feature readings, carols, vocal and instrumental solos and ensembles and a live nativity.
The men’s choir and women’s ensemble will sing. Vocal soloists Maria Clark and Janelle Raven will offer contemporary carols, while piano soloist Marion Howe and violin soloist David Knightly will perform more traditional pieces.
Roy Clark will accompany on piano and Aaron Skolfield will accompany on guitar. The Rev. Rick Mowery will offer a Christmas meditation.
The church is decorated using oil lamps, poinsettias, greens and wreaths and this year features a 17-foot decorated live evergreen tree. The church is located at 1005 State Route 121.For more information, call 627-4886.
Three services
NORWAY — Christ Episcopal Church, 35 Paris St., will offer three worship services on Christmas weekend.
On Christmas Eve at 4 p.m. the church will open for the singing of carols and the traditional Christmas readings, including the Christmas story in St. Luke’s nativity gospel. All children will be invited to fill the Creche with animals of all sorts. The service will end with Holy Communion and, with the congregation kneeling, the singing of Silent Night.
The church will open again at 9:30 p.m. for more traditional carol singing, followed at 10 by the second Communion service, with choir and anthems, carols and a Christmas sermon. Two vocal solos will be sung, one by Hannah Brown, the other by Ted Kehn. The service will be followed by warm cider.
The church will hold the third service at 9 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 25. Communion will be celebrated.

Christmas story
OTISFIELD — A Christmas Eve service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 24, at the East Otisfield Free Baptist Church on the Rayville Road. Pastor Genise Knowlton will conduct the service. In her sermonette she will describe the Christmas story seen through the eyes of the innkeeper.
Music Director Priscilla Delehanty and the choir will present seasonal music beginning with the “Advent Processional” by Anna Laura Page.
All are welcome. Those attending will have an opportunity to join with the choir in singing the familiar carols of Christmas.
Christmas Eve
HARRISON — The United Parish Congregational Church of Harrison and North Bridgton will have a candlelight Christmas Eve service at 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 24. The service is appropriate for all ages.
Bridge winners
OXFORD — Oxford Hills Duplicate Bridge Club met Dec. 17 in the recreation building, King Street. A six-table Howell movement was played.
Finishing first in flight A were Lucille Theriault and Fred Letourneau; second, Dick Allen and Pete Cummings; third, Linda Leotsakos and Mary Trafton, who were also first in flight B; fourth, Hazel Glazier and Les Buzzell.
Finishing second in flight B were Cynthia Clifford and Claire Lyons; third, Milt McKeen and Jim Krainin, who were first in flight C; second in flight C, Denny Raymond and Hank Sakrison.
