FARMINGTON —The Upper Kennebec Valley Chapter of SWOAM and the Farmington Conservation Commission will hold an informative presentation on salmon habitat and habitat restoration efforts from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 20, at the Farmington Town Office.
Ron Joseph will be the speaker. He recently retired as a wildlife biologist in Maine where he spent 33 years working for the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
He spent most of his career restoring rivers and degraded fish and wildlife habitat by working with private landowners. Joseph is interested in helping salmon populations recover in the Sandy River watershed.
He will present a PowerPoint program on salmon in the greater Kennebec River watershed, including the Sandy River.
The event is free and open to the public. For more information, contact Patty Cormier at [email protected] or 592-2238.
