Church events
RUMFORD — Rumford Baptist Church will have a Christmas Eve service at 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 24. The church is located on the corner of Plymouth Avenue and Washington Street.
The church will hold an open house from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Christmas day. There will be food, games, fellowship and Christmas carols. For more information, call Clemma Nichols at 364-8622.
The church will hold a kids’ Christmas party from 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 28, for grades kindergarten through five.
Circle to meet
RUMFORD — St. Timothy Circle 504, Daughters of Isabella, will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 11, at the Parish of the Holy Savior Church hall. Committee members are Chairwoman Andrea Gurney, Nancy Martineau, Julie Salatino, Linda Merrill, Lillian Burns, Kathy Kellogg and Barbara Pelletier.
Holistic medicine
RUMFORD — The Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope and Healing is offering a free workshop to cancer patients, survivors and their loved ones at Rumford Hospital. “What is Complementary/Holistic Medicine?” will take place from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 13, in conference room A.
Presenters Carleen M. Dupuis and her son, Richard Dupuis, will explain what the terms mean and how they fit into a personal health care plan. Discussion will include a broad range of complementary modalities, including aromatherapy, energy therapies, massage and herbal medicine.
Carleen Dupuis is a certified holistic health practitioner, master level III reiki practitioner and certified spontaneous drawing therapist. Richard Dupuis is a licensed massage therapist.
