RUMFORD — Francis B. “Frank” St.Cyr, 86, died Wednesday, Dec. 22, at his home on Spruce Street, with his family by his side.
He was born in Rumford on Oct. 21, 1924, a son of Frank and Dorcas (Glover) St.Cyr., and attended Rumford Schools.
Frank served as a seaman second class, U.S. Navy, aboard the USS Boston during World War II.
He was employed as a mechanic at the mobile garage at Boise Cascade Paper Company in Rumford, then as a machinist when he retired in 1986 after more than 40 years with the company.
Frank was a communicant of St. Athanasius – St. John Church, member of the Boise Cascade Paper Company 25 and 40 Year clubs; member Robert Shand Post 1641, VFW and Member of Napoleon Ouellette Post 24, American Legion.
He was married in Rumford on Nov. 27, 1945, to the former Adeline Collins, who died in Rumford on Jan. 11, 1991.
Survivors include his daughter, Gladys St.Cyr of Rumford; brother, James St.Cyr of Gulfport, Miss.; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter, Linda Rockwood; sister, Gladys Gurschick; brothers, Louis, Ray, Quentin “Sam”, Loren, and David St.Cyr; and granddaughter, Alethea Anne Gallant.
