HONEY BROOK, Pa. —Lorraine D. Maheu, 83, of Downingtown, Pa., formerly of Lewiston, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 23, at Hickory House, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Lewiston, Lorraine was the daughter of the late Emile J. and Armosa (Blais) Dumont. She earned her degree as a registered dietitian from Rivier College in 1949, and attended graduate school at the University of Maine.

She was the beloved wife of Donald D. Maheu, with whom she shared 57 years of marriage.

Before her retirement in 1988, Lorraine was employed as a dietitian for Pocopson Home for 13 years.

She was member of St. Joseph Church in Downingtown, Pa., and was a former member of the American Dietetic Association.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Daniel J. of Hamilton, Ohio, Peggy Gladstone of Townsend, Del., Gregory P. of Ashdowne, Ark., Christine Nicholson of York, Pa., John D. of Felton, Del., and Paula Whitley of Cumming, Ga.; brother, Julien, of Lewiston; sisters, Contance Giguere of Phillipsburg, N.J., Sylvia Martel of Wilmington, N.C. and Henrietta Domingue of Saco; and 14 grandchildren.
