FARMINGTON — The driver of a vehicle that crashed on Bailey Hill Road on Christmas Eve was in good condition Monday at Central Maine Medical Center, according to a hospital representative.

Cecil Durrell, 60, of Farmington was driving a 1999 Jeep up the hill Friday when he lost control, went off the road and hit a tree, according to Farmington police officer William Tanner’s report.

His wife, Loree, 55, a passenger, was also injured and was taken to Franklin Memorial Hospital. She has been released, according to FMH personnel Monday.

The accident happened midmorning Friday near 452 Bailey Hill Road. Durrell had to be extricated from the vehicle.

A LifeFlight helicopter landed at Farmington Fairgrounds to meet the NorthStar ambulance that brought Durrell down the hill and Maple Avenue to the fairgrounds. Police said he was admitted to the intensive care unit at the Lewiston hospital.
