NEW VINEYARD — Geraldine Avis Wills Stewart went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Dec 24.

She was born in Livermore, Dec. 13, 1933, the daughter of Fred M. and Bertha O. Webster Wills. She attended Livermore schools, graduating with honors from Leavitt Institute in 1952. She married Roy Lee Stewart Jr. in March 1955. They had four children, Eric Lee Stewart of Crookston, Minn., Kelley Jo Stewart Crosby of Stetson, Dierdre Rae Stewart Vadas of Orrington and Libbey Jean Stewart of Windham.

She worked for C.N. Turner in Livermore, the original Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington and retired in 1998 after 22 years with Androscoggin Home Health.

In her youth, she was a 4-H Club member, led by her mother; was active in Livermore Grange No. 542; and square dance associations with her friend, Joyce Doyen (Tirrell).

After moving to New Vineyard, she became a member of New Vineyard Congregational Church, now Mountain View Bible Church, serving as a teacher and for many years, organist and clerk. She served on the New Vineyard Board of Selectmen, the first woman to do so. She was a New Vineyard Red Hat member, a charter member of Rural Health Associates and served several years on the Healthy Community Coalition of Franklin Memorial Hospital.

She enjoyed her family, friends, Bible study led by Agnes Bestwick, history and was a member of the New Vineyard Historical Society. She also enjoyed music, genealogy, reading, crafts, writing poetry and traveling with her husband in their RV.

She is survived by her husband, Roy; children, Eric and his wife, Jennifer, Dierdre and her husband, Brent, Kelley and her husband, Steve and Libbey; grandchildren, Trevor, Tanisha, Amanda, David, Mariah, Rebekah and Jeremiah; sisters, Marilyn Desoto and Cecile Hathaway; brothers, Walter Wills and his wife, Marie and Paul Wills and his wife, Donna; sisters-in-law, Natalie Cochran, Christine Norman and husband, Joseph, Winnefred Brackley; and many nieces and nephews. She will also be sadly missed by many friends.

She was predeceased by her parents; a granddaughter, Katalin Vadas; two infant brothers; and a sister.
