My husband and I both underwent surgery recently. We are overwhelmed with the outpouring of love we have received — the cards, phone calls, food, visits, and our mail and newspaper delivered daily.
Shortly before Christmas, a knock came on our door. A group of Christmas carolers of all ages were there to serenade me. I felt sad, as my husband was still in the hospital. They informed me that they had been to the hospital to see him first.
Our motto in Peru is, “Neighbors helping neighbors.”
So, thank you, neighbors, one and all.
