Winter activity kits

NORWAY — Children in first through third grade are invited to join a program to make winter activity kits from 3:15 to 4:15 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 6, at the Norway Memorial Library.

Participants will make games and activities to put in their activity kits for use later in the winter. In case the games alone are not enough to prevent boredom, they will read some short action and adventure stories.

Kids will learn about other books that the library owns that would be fun to read on snowy days. For more information or to register, call the library at 743-5309, ext. 4, to preregister.

Monthly breakfast

HARRISON — VFW Post 9328, Waterford Road, will host its monthly public breakfast from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 9.

Breakfasts are held on the second Sunday of each month. They include scrambled eggs, french toast, pancakes, biscuits/country gravy, bacon, sausage, fresh fruit, sweet breads, coffee, tea, hot cocoa, OJ. Donations are appreciated.
