AUBURN — Crews will close lanes on the Washington Street overnight Wednesday and Thursday while they work to replace girders on the Maine Turnpike’s overpass.
Crews are scheduled to close the southbound lanes of Washington Street at the overpass beginning at 8 p.m. Wednesday. Southbound traffic will be narrowed to one lane routed onto the north side of the street. Both lanes are scheduled to reopen at 6 a.m. Thursday morning and close again at 8 p.m. Thursday night.
The work is scheduled to wrap up at 6 a.m. Friday.
Tracey Steuber, Auburn’s community relations contact for the Turnpike Authority, said work will also stop northbound drivers hoping to turn left at Hardscrabble Road.
