NORWAY — Hannah F. Richardson Tent 19, Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War 1861-1865, gathered at the home of Marilyn Jones on on Dec. 8 for a meeting and gift exchange preceded by a chowder supper.
Dorothy Morency was installed secretary and Loretta Andrews was installed guard. Past National President Gail Butterfield was the installing officer.
The charter was draped for the past national presidents, Nina Ninas and Marguerite Lewis. A DUV gold charm was presented to Gail Butterfield in appreciation of her years as a member of Tent 19.
It was reported that Treasurer Kim Hansen was in the hospital. Members from Tent 19 wrapped gifts at the Western Maine Veterans Home recently.
Thank-you notes were read from the shut-ins who received Thanksgiving baskets, and Christmas stockings were filled for the shut-ins. The mystery prize was won by Loretta Andrews.
Dues were due in December and the next meeting will be Wednesday, Feb. 23, at the same location.
