LIVERMORE FALLS — A town manager search committee reviewed 35 applications for the position and decided to interview six of them, select board Chairman Bill Demaray said Monday.

Three of those interviews will be conducted beginning at 5:30 p.m.  Thursday, Jan. 6, at the Treat Memorial Library auditorium. The others will be interviewed on Monday, Jan. 10, at the town office, Demaray said.

Town Clerk/Treasurer Kristal Flagg is filling in as town manager until a candidate is hired to replace former Town Manager Jim Chaousis. He left in November to become the town manager of Boothbay.

In a related matter, selectmen also voted on Monday to close the application period as of midnight Jan. 2. Applications came in after the deadline and the committee decided to review them, Demaray said. Initially there was said to be 32 applications.
