FARMINGTON — A Kids First Program will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 8, in Farmington and Topsham.

The four-hour co-parenting education workshop for parents is designed to help address problems and reduce the negative effects of separation and divorce.

The workshop will address children’s needs as marital and family roles change, the effects of and children’s reactions to separation and divorce, talking with children about divorce or other changes, making decisions about parenting arrangements, dealing with conflict without involving children and helping children adjust to differences between households.

Participants are encouraged to attend the program as early in the separation and divorce as possible.

Fee is $60 a person. Space is still available.

To register in Farmington, call 778-6960 or mail registration to Children’s Task Force, 113 Church St., Farmington, ME 04938. The workshop will be held at Franklin Memorial Hospital, 1 Hospital Drive.

To register in Topsham, call the Kids First Center at 761-2709. The session will be held at Woodside Elementary School, 42 Barrows Drive.
