I understand the economy is down and people must be selective with their family entertainment dollars; however, I fail to grasp how people cannot see value in the great product a Maineiacs game provides this year.

The organization made tremendous leaps through the draft and trades for a run at another championship in the coming years. The way the team has gelled and continues to play, it could reach the goal this year.

The organization has made past mistakes; Mark Just has admitted such numerous times. This year, the new front office team and volunteer efforts of dedicated fans have been trying everything possible to get fans into the seats. Being the only U.S. team presents tough financial challenges no other team has to face. In order to keep this team here for the long haul, higher attendance is a must.

Members of the team, ownership down to players, have been putting themselves out there in our community all season, showing they care and want to stay. It is time the public does the same.

Let’s not hold a grudge because “it might just up and move again anyway.” Get out to a game. Ticket deals are out there and you will not be disappointed.

It does no good to be stubborn and then complain if Mr. Just does end up having to pack the team’s bags.
