WELLS — Haylee Cote scored 13 points and hit three 3-pointers and Alicia Valente scored 12 and ripped down 12 rebounds as Gray-New Gloucester dropped Wells with a 41-28 victory in a girls’ basketball game Saturday night.

G-NG and Wells were hung up at 14 a piece at halftime before the Patriots (3-4) rang up 27 points in the second half. Maggie Chaplin added 10 points.

For Wells (2-5), Kelsey Bragdone scored the team-high 10 points.

Leavitt 95, Belfast 32

TURNER — The Hornets dealt crushing blows in the first and fourth quarters as Leavitt thrashed Belfast 95-32 in KVAC girls’ basketball action Saturday.

Sohpomore forward Lexi Nelligan led the Lions (2-7) with eight points in a valiant effort.

The Hornets (9-0) were profound on offense, making some scores without the ball touching the court.

Senior point guard Courtney Anderson recorded a stunning 27 points, while sophomore guard Kristen Anderson scored 22 points and junior forward Adrianna Newton added 18 points and eight rebounds for Leavitt.

Oak Hill 49, Mt. View 27

WALES — Senior forward Maggie Sabine recorded 17 points to lead Oak Hill to a 49-27 victory over Mt. Vliew.

With a six-point advantage going into the fourth, the Raiders (7-2) pulled ahead on a 19-5 run in the final frame for a comfortable win. Sabine posted 12 of her 17 points in the fourth.

Gabby Green contributed 11 points for Oak Hill.

Senior guard Hayleigh Kein led the Mustang (3-6) offense with 9 points in the losing effort.

Hampden 59, Mt. Blue 32

FARMINGTON — Hampden Academy grabbed a 16-point lead in the first quarter and edged ahead over the next three frames to defeat Mt. Blue 59-32 in KVAC girls’ basketball action Saturday.

The Broncos (7-1) were strong on defense, forcing many turnovers to set the tone of the game.

Freshman guard Jillian Perron led the Cougars (2-6) with nine points and nine rebounds, while Miranda Nicely chipped in with three points and six rebounds in the losing effort.

Traip 75, Hebron 49

HEBRON — Sienna Lorrey recorded a game-high 31 points to lead Traip to a 75-49 victory over Hebron.

The Rangers executed a well-balanced attack as Sarah Orr contributed 13 points and Alli Barrett chipped in with 10 points. Lorrey tossed 11 field goals, including five from 3-point range, and four from the charity stripe.

Janelle Bradish sank 12 field goals and six free throws to lead the Lumberjacks with 30 points in the losing effort.

Greenville 38, Rangeley 32

RANGELEY — Gretal Breton dominated the scoring Saturday, draining 22 points to lead visiting Greenville to a 38-32 upset win over Rangeley in EWC girls’ basketball action. Carli Peat added six for Greenville (3-3), which benefitted from several Rangeley turnovers.

Chantal Carrier led Rangeley (6-2) with 14 points, including one trey. Tori Letarte added five for the home team in the loss.
