This is in response to the editorial of Jan. 5, “Navy captain failed key test of leadership.”

Isn’t it a little presumptuous for the editor of the Sun Journal to judge the leadership capacity of a man who may have to lead his troops into a battle in which they all could be disintegrated?

What do you think you might have done to relieve the stress, tension, boredom and poor morale in that situation? Is everyone on a floating battlefield like the Enterprise likely to find comfort in the same message?

Is there any message that can bring comfort to all?
