LEWISTON — Aurore T. Boulette, 83, a former longtime Sabattus resident, died Sunday, Jan. 9, at d’Youville Pavilion after a period of failing health.

She was born in Lewiston, June 16, 1927, the daughter of the late Aime and Rachel (Deslauriers) Mercier. She worked at St. Mary’s Hospital for more than 35 years as a certified operating room technician. Before moving to Lewiston, she was an active parishioner at Our Lady of The Rosary Church.

She was a member of the Sabattus Lake Association and Jacques Cartier, where she was a recipient of the Mother of the Year Award. In Lewiston, she was a dedicated volunteer, including being a greeter at the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul. She also enjoyed walking and was an avid family sports enthusiast routing on all her grandchildren’s sports.

She is survived by three sons, Daniel and his wife, Vada, of Standish, Robert and his wife, Susane, of Sabattus and Patrick and his wife, Tina, of Wales; one daughter, Angela and her husband, Kevin Laverty, of Cummings, Ga.; one sister, Pauline and her husband, Joseph Bourgoin, of Sabattus; seven grandchildren, Mitchell, Skye, Ariel Boulette, David, Michael, Sean and Evan Pilot; two great-grandsons; and many very close nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by one grandson, Bobby Sue Boulette in 1986; one sister, Murielle Laverdiere; and two brothers, Laurent and Antonin Mercier.
